Much of Obama’s ‘economic crisis’ speech to Congress was about changing the patterns of routine community activity while reinforcing and promoting its traditional values. This idea coincides with Reut Institute’s perception of financial and organizational resilience.
Speaking to congressmen on the challenges ahead for the US, President Obama stated that: “living our values doesn’t make us weaker. It makes us safer, and it makes us stronger”.
A similar principle led the Reut Institute to formulate guiding principles which we believe will (despite the current global financial crisis) put us on the right track for securing financial resilience throughout 2009.
The principles we adopted to guide us through the crisis are:
Remaining faithful to our Vision, Mission and Strategy;
Maintaining High moral standards;
Protecting our Core Capacities;
Strengthening our Foundations during Crisis;
Protecting and Strengthening the Reut brand.
