Vision to Reality: The Reut Blog

During Pesach, we plan to update our community regarding developments in different areas of our work. Today’s focus is on our development and fundraising.

Development and fundraising:

Reut continues to strengthen its financial resilience and to lay the foundations for further growth. Our trips to Los Angeles, New York and Dallas have been successful and we are meeting our development objectives. In the near future we will publish our 2008 Annual Report, 2009 Development Plan for 2009-11 and the 2009 Work Plan.

Jewish Funders Network Conference: Last week I was invited to the annual conference of the Jewish Funders Network – www.jfunders.org – which was held in St. Petersburg, FL. One of the privileges of my line of work is the ability to spend time with a self-selected community of people – grantors and grantees – who are committed to improving this world with hope, can-do attitude and no cynicism.

The panel I sat on focused on Jewish identity of Israelis and included Alan Feld, Major General (Res.) Elazar Stern, Former Chief Education Officer of the IDF, and Prof. Yoav Shoham. Although this is not a focus-area of the Reut Institute, it touches on many of the issues that are central to our work.
