In the lead up to yesterday’s Obama – Netanyahu meeting, many analysts have argued that Israel’s ‘Special Relationship’ with the US – which has become one of the cornerstones of Israel’s National Security Strategy – is changing.
This change is mainly due to disagreements regarding the political process with the Palestinians and conflicting positions on Iran.
In this context, the Reut Institute recently published a ‘Concept Paper’ which describes the unique characteristics of this ‘Special Relationship’ – the set of political, security and economic connections and cooperation between Israel and the US.
