Reut’s monthly training days constitute a part of the organization’s commitment to train a cadre of Israel’s future strategic thinkers. August’s training day focused on practical lessons for analysts as well as a discussion over the role of Shabbat in Israeli society.
August’s training began with a day-long session dedicated to revising Reut’s methodology for knowledge development, which is based on the package of theory, methodology and software tools provided by Praxis. During this session, all team-leaders drew lessons and conclusions from the latest projects in which their teams were involved.
In addition, two Reut analysts – Noa Amrani and Calev Ben Dor – led workshops on improving our editing and writing capabilities as well as utilizing search engines for finding and discovering data in the current era of constantly evolving information.
Reut’s training program also includes a component on Jewish history and tradition which is generously supported by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and provided by the Center for Leadership Initiatives. In this context Shlomit Naor from Melitz led a session dealing with the religious and social aspects of Shabbat which included a presentation by Adv. Yoav Artsieli, the Director of the Gavison-Medan Covenant Project on the issues of religion and state in Israel. In addition, the team studied some of the original textual sources for Shabbat together with Hillel Mali.
