Last month, an old man fell unconscious on a street in Tel Aviv. His life was saved thanks to the quick reaction by a security officer working nearby who performed resuscitation using his building’s electric resuscitation machine. Although this may be a singular incident, it can also be viewed as an example for best practice of an ‘End Point’ in the Israeli Civil Resilience Network.
The Civil Resilience Network is a network that is comprised of tens of thousands of units – individuals, households, central and local governments, businesses and corporations, and organizations – that are committed to improving local and national resilience and have necessary capacities and resources to act both independently and in conjunction during crises.
More information about the Civil Resilience Network may be found in the latest document released by the ‘Communities’ team at the Reut institute: “Civil Resilience Network – Israel’s Local & National Resilience“.
