The Reut Institute’s paper on Israel’s delegitimization challenge has generated widespread reaction to an issue traditionally insufficiently featured on the agenda of decision makers and in public discourse.
Much of the response to the report has taken place in international media, despite the fact that the report has yet to be translated into English. It follows that the vast majority of the discourse, responses, and critiques are not based on the report’s actual contents.
The Reut Institute has thus compiled brief responses to five frequently asked questions and claims about the report:
-
Is Reut is trying to block any form of criticism of against Israel?
-
Israel’s diplomatic position is not a result of fundamental delegitimization, but a direct result of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
-
Is it legitimate to brand cities like London, Madrid, and Toronto as anti-Israel hubs?
-
Does Reut recommend that the Mossad work in hubs to counter delegitimizers?
-
Does Reut calls for physical violence against delegitimizers
